Eligibility for Funded Enrolments

Regardless of how a course is delivered learners are eligible for a funded position provided they are:

  • Aged over 17
  • Not currently enrolled in a mainstream Secondary School or equivalent program AND
  • An Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or be Jobs Victoria referred asylum seeker with a relevant visa.

Code of Conduct

In order to provide a safe and welcoming environment for staff, participants and visitors at Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre Inc.:

  • Centre staff, participants and visitors will treat each other with respect and courtesy at all times;
  • Anti-social behavior, including harassing staff, participants or visitors is not allowed. This includes the use of offensive or threatening language and the making of threats;
  • Behavior or language, which offends, insults, humiliates or intimidates another person or group of people on the basis of race, ethnic origin, gender, age or disability, or is disruptive in any way will not be tolerated.

Class Attendance

If you are unable to make a class please make sure you let either the trainer know during class time or contact the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre on (03)5339 5069. If outside of office hours, please leave a message on the answering machine. Certificates of participation are issued for all Learn Local Funded classes. Learners need to have attended 75% of the course to be eligible to receive a certificate.

Third Party Reporting

If a course is being paid for by a third party organisation (agency, employer or other) please be aware that we will provide them with attendance and completion records if requested.

Photographic Images, Video Images, Work Examples & Quotations

By ticking the YES box for photographic consent and signing the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre Enrolment Form you have the agreed to the use of your photographic image, video image, work examples and quotations, by Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre for promotional activities.

These may appear in our:

  • Printed or online community newsletter;
  • Website (www.wnc.org.au);
  • Facebook page;
  • Course & activity guides;
  • Promotional flyers.
  • Social Planet.

You also confirm that no payment or benefit will be sought by you for the use of any of the above by the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre.

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time prior to the publication of photographic images, video images, work examples and quotations. This will need to be done in writing, addressed to the Manager.

If you only want to give consent for specific situations please contact our office for a separate Consent Form.

Student Declaration

By completing and/or signing/submitting the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre Enrolment Form, you acknowledge that the information provided is correct to the best of your knowledge and you accept and agree to the terms and conditions, cancellation and refund policies, and privacy policies outlined.

You also understand that you may be contacted to participate in a survey conducted by NCVER or a Department-endorsed project, audit or review relating to your training. This provides valuable feedback on the delivery of VET programs in Victoria. (Please Note: You may opt out of the NCVER Survey at the time of being contacted).

Privacy Declaration

Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre (WNC) is committed to protecting and upholding the right to privacy of all WNC users, staff, Commitee of Management (CoM) members, and representatives of agencies we deal with. In particular WNC is committed to protecting and upholding the rights of our users and staff to privacy in the way we collect, store, and use information about them, their needs, and the services we provide to them.

Our Privacy Policy requires staff and CoM members to be consistent and careful in the way they manage what is written and said about individuals and how they decide who can see or hear this information.

Dealing With Personal Information

In dealing with personal information, WNC staff will:

  • ensure privacy for WNC users, staff, volunteers, and CoM members when they are being interviewed or discussing matters of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • only collect and store personal information that is necessary for the functioning of the organisation and its activities.
  • use fair and lawful ways to collect personal information.
  • collect personal information only by consent from an individual.
  • ensure people know what sort of personal information is held, for what purposes it is held, and how it was collected, used, disclosed, and who will have access to it.
  • ensure personal information collected or disclosed is accurate, complete, and up-to- date, and will provide access to any individual to review information or correct wrong information about themselves.
  • take reasonable steps to protect all personal information from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure.
  • destroy or permanently de-identify personal information no longer needed and/or after legal requirements for retaining documents have expired.

Victorian Government VET Student Enrolment Privacy Notice

The Victorian Government, through the Department of Education and Training (the Department), develops, monitors and funds vocational education and training (VET and ACFE) in Victoria. The Victorian Government is committed to ensuring Victorians have access to appropriate and relevant VET services.

Any personal information collected by the Department for VET purposes is protected in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic).

ACFE Privacy Statement

The Adult, Community and Further Education (ACFE) Board is committed to protecting the privacy of your personal information. This ACFE Board online privacy statement governs the collection, use, storage, access and disposal of data including all personal information obtained on the website. Collection of Data

Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre is required to provide the Department with student and training activity data. This includes personal information collected in the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre enrolment form and unique identifiers such as the Victorian Student Number (VSN) and the Commonwealth’s Unique Student Identifier (USI).

Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre provides data to the Department in accordance with the Victorian VET Student Statistical Collection Guidelines, available at http://www.education.vic.gov.au/training/providers/rto/Pages/datacollection.aspx.

Use of Personal Data

The Department uses student and training data, including personal information, for a range of VET purposes including administration, monitoring and planning. A student’s VSN may be used for specific VET purposes including the verification of student data provided by Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre.

Disclosure of Personal Data

As necessary and where lawful, the Department may disclose VET data, including personal information, to its contractors, other government agencies, professional bodies and/or other organisations for VET-related purposes. In particular, this includes disclosure of VET student and training data to the Commonwealth and the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER).

Legal & Regulatory

The Department’s collection and handling of enrolment data and VSNs is authorised under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic).

Consequences of Not Providing Your Information

Failure to provide your personal information may mean that it is not possible for you to enrol in VET and/or to obtain a Victorian Government VET subsidy.

WNC Online

WNC has a website and WNC-identified spaces on blogs and social networking sites such as Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. The WNC website refers to this privacy policy and conditions-of-use statement, both of which are linked from the footer of every page on the website.

The website provides online services requiring users to provide personal information. Personal details are maintained on secure servers. Sometimes WNC also invites people to submit comments, photos, or stories via forms on the website. Although users are encouraged not to identify people, the stories may include some personal information.

Whenever WNC collects such content, individuals are informed about the purposes for which their content will be used (for example, publication on the website).

Cookies

The WNC website uses ‘cookies’. A cookie is a small data structure sent from a web server to the internet browser and saved on your hard drive as a text file. The information is made up of a string of letters and numbers which uniquely identifies your computer and any username or password you may have already registered on the WNC website. The information collected is used to authenticate or identify whether you are registered on the WNC website, without requiring you to re-enter details each time you log on to the website.

Most web browsers are set to accept cookies. If you do not wish to receive cookies, you can disable this function or delete existing cookies in your web browser, although doing so may restrict access to or use of some of the pages on the WNC website.

Cookies are not used to collect and store your personal information. Cookies store information such as your server address, your top level domain name, the date and the time of your visit to a website, the pages you accessed and downloaded, the address of the last website you visited and the type of browser you are using. If you choose to personalise the WNC website, the cookies will also enable the WNC website to remember your preferred settings for your subsequent visits.

WNC uses this information for monitoring website use to facilitate website management, development and planning.

Online Forms

If you provide personal details during your visit to the WNC website or via our other online forms, then WNC only use and disclose your personal information for the purpose for which it was collected. Any other type of use and disclosure will require your consent or be in accordance with prescribed exemptions under privacy laws.

How To Access Your Personal Information

WNC will provide you with access to personal information acquired or presented about you on the WNC website for the purpose of verification and correction.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Payments and Refunds

To hold your place, full course payment (where applicable) must be received prior to the course commencement date. In some circumstances a payment plan may be granted by the Manager.

If you withdraw from the course you will forfeit your fees in total. In cases of extreme hardship, learners are able to discuss this with the Manager. There are no refunds for classes not attended.

Should a course be cancelled by the Wendouree Neighbourhood Centre prior to commencement, a full refund will be given.
